An annual conference series, the Education and Research Technology Forum (ERT) aims to encourage collaborations and projects among APRU members in
the applicable use of advanced technology for teaching, learning and research. These may include benchmarking, high performance computing, wireless/ubiquitous technology and distance learning around the Pacific Rim.
Prior to 2009, the ERT forum was run as the Distance Learning and Internet Conference, which was a flagship activity of APRUNet, exploring global issues in distance learning and the utilization of current information technology in education amongst Pacific Rim universities. As an annual conference series, DLI's mission was to facilitate development of advanced Internet capabilities among APRU universities and Pacific Rim economies in collaboration with strategic and commercial partners.
DLI brought together leading distance learning and ICT experts from academia, business and government from around the world to foster new international distance learning and IT-enabled projects and partnerships around the Pacific Rim.
