One of the most important strategic issues for the sciences today is the interface between food and health, encompassing the production of agriculture, food security, biodiversity, nutrition and population health. The inaugural Agriculture Deans Meeting aims to build an international platform for agriculture and life science deans, as well as probe key strategic issues impacting agriculture-based human life including food safety and security, biodiversity and ecology, green energy, and agricultural education. Inter-disciplinary education and research, and the sharing of increasingly reduced bioresources and biodiversity are also issues that will be addressed.
The Agriculture Deans Meeting hopes to act as a catalyst for generating a three-year program of engaging agriculture and life science deans collaboratively across the region and globally in issues of key strategic concern to them.
