Siew Yiin joined the Secretariat team in January 2005. She drives and facilitates the organization of a number of research symposiums badged by APRU and hosted by member universities. The conference series on earthquakes and natural hazards mitigation, for example, is under her charge. Siew Yiin has been actively involved in the organization of the APRU Undergraduate Summer Program since its inception in 2006. Siew Yiin is also currently working on a collaborative project with the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) entitled “The Asia Pacific Education Market”.

In addition to the APRU activities under her portfolio, Siew Yiin has been key in developing the new APRU corporate website, and together with the rest of the APRU Secretariat team, she helps to organize key APRU meetings such as the Annual Presidents Meeting and Senior Staff Meeting.

Siew Yiin graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a bachelor’s degree in business, specializing in human resource consulting. Prior to APRU, Siew Yiin was with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency which required her to liaise extensively with both internal and external stakeholders on manpower issues at the national level.

Siew Yiin enjoys reading, cooking, and playing with her dog in her free time. She is also keen on activities related to nature and photography.
