Margaret LEONG

Margaret joined the Secretariat in May 2007.  She leads the Secretariat team based in Singapore and her chief roles are to oversee the development of intellectual content for APRU’s annual meetings and key initiatives, and manage the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat.  Margaret was elected Treasurer of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) in June 2008.

Margaret graduated with a degree in Industrial and Business Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has work experience in human resource development and planning, industry development, and policy planning and review, from holding a variety of portfolios at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore Economic Development Board, Ministry of Manpower, and Singapore Workforce Development Agency.

In her spare time, Margaret enjoys reading, collecting cookbooks and playing tennis.  She is also keen on pottery and writing.
